Before your visit, in plain terms.
If anything here is unclear, call the office and ask. We would rather answer the question than have you worry about it.

Register online before you come in.
Complete your registration and medical history from home. It saves time at the front desk and gives Dr. Jaffe the full picture before you sit down.
Your first visit
Plan on about forty five minutes. Dr. Jaffe will want the whole story: when the trouble started, what makes it better or worse, and what has already been tried.
Register online
Fill in your details and history from home, or bring the paper forms.
Check in
Check in at the front desk with your insurance card, photo ID and medication list.
About 45 minutes
A full history, a careful joint exam, and bloodwork or imaging, often the same day.
A plan in hand
An explanation of what is likely going on and what happens next.
What to bring

- Your insurance card and a photo ID01

The practical part
Insurance and payment
Call the office before your visit and we will check your plan for you. Copayments are due at the time of your visit.
Check my plan →Prescriptions and refills
Call us or have your pharmacy send the request, and allow a couple of business days. Some medications need current bloodwork before a refill.
Request a refill →Referrals and records
You do not need a referral to make an appointment, though some plans require one. Ask your doctor to send notes and recent results ahead of time.

Ver la página en españolWhat does a rheumatologist treat?
Conditions of the joints, muscles and bones that do not require surgery, and diseases where the immune system attacks the body. Arthritis, osteoporosis, gout and lupus are the most common, but there are many others.
Do I need a referral?
Not from us. Check with your insurance plan, as some require one.
How soon can I be seen?
Call the office and we will give you the earliest appointment available.
Will I need medication for life?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends entirely on the condition. Dr. Jaffe will explain what your diagnosis means before anything is prescribed.
Do you see patients under 18?
We care for adults aged 18 and over. For younger patients we can point you to a pediatric rheumatologist.
